The recipe includes MOS (mannanoligosaccharides) which binds potentially pathogenic bacteria preventing them from adhering to the intestinal wall and excreting them safely with the faeces. Additionally, the food contains beet pulp. This moderately fermentable fibre produces butyrate, a short chain fatty acid (SCFA) serving as a preferential energy source for the enterocytes.
